In addition to the actual event on Saturday, R16 will be hosting, in collaboration with "Know Your Rank" (Supreme Soul's Official Merch line), 4 workshops the following day, at City Dance Studios. Featuring OGs like Firelock, Monstapop, ProfoWon, and Scoo B Doo (teaching locking, popping, bboying, and locking respectively), if you can make it, you definitely don't want to miss out. Event details on the Facebook page.
If you'd rather see more battling, that weekend is jam packed with events. In addition to R16, Medea Sirkas (featured in my on-hiatus Legendary Hip Hop) will be hosting their first annual "Go Hard or Go Home" event. Featuring a 1v1 Popping-related styles battle, a Bay v LA OG Cypher, and a 5v5 Popping Battle showcase, as well as performances by GrooveMekanex and Turfin 24/7. It's gonna be tough to choose between these two events, but either one will be greatly entertaining. Check out the Facebook Page to sign up, or right here to get presale tickets.
The following week later, (the 16th) Academy of Villains will be holding auditions. If you're interested, check out the Facebook event here. If you need a reason to have motivation to join, just watch this video
(Yeah, I just wanted a reason to post this again...)
Finally, this takes place actually the Friday before R16 (the same day as the preliminaries), but I'm putting it here since it's a bit less "interactive" than the above events. LMFAO will be on their tour with Far East Movement in Oakland Oracle Arena, and Quest Crew will be performing with them. If you want to see your Season 3 champs perform, now's your chance. Tickets available here.
If you have any more events in the area you want me to cover, let us know in the comments below! Hope to see some of you Bay Area folks at these events
